Biannual Selah Retreats

Our ministry holds two 3-day weekend retreats every year: one in the late Spring and the other in early Fall. But what does SELAH actually mean and how does this apply?

“Selah” is a Hebrew word that occurs frequently in Psalms and serves as a literal instruction to the reader to stop and listen: to PAUSE and PRAISE! This word usually occurs at the end of a song or passage and before the next, stressing the importance of silence and reflection. Exodus 33:14: “And He said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
